The exciting FREE OF CHARGE event boasts a varied educational program as below. This event has 2 CPD points granted and 2 CPD points pending for optometrists.


At present it is free to join BAMEP, but a small annual fee will be introduced from 1st January 2025 as follows: £50 for fully qualified professionals, £25 for trainees and pre-reg, Free for students.


Ophthalmologists may self-certify for CPD. This program is free of charge and places are limited. Therefore, please only register if you are confident of being able to attend.

  • Provide a platform to showcase and highlight the work of Muslim ophthalmologists, optometrists, and dispensing opticians.

  • Educate ophthalmologists, optometrists and dispensing opticians about best practice and latest advances in each other’s specialties.

  • Provide a platform for continuing professional development (CPD) for ophthalmologists, optometrists, and dispensing opticians.

  • Provide a forum for Muslim ophthalmologists, optometrists, and dispensing opticians to share their experiences of the interaction between

  • their Muslim faith and their studies, work, research, career, and life outside of work.

  • Provide a forum for experienced and fully quali ed ophthalmologists, optometrists, and dispensing opticians to support students, trainees,

  • and other colleagues at earlier stages of their professional careers.

  • Create a network of professional Muslim colleagues.

  • Promote awareness and understanding of Islam within the eyecare professions.
